Why Read This Blog?

What Kind of Blog is This?

I like to think this weblog is a different kind of animal altogether. Like a butterfly nine feet across perhaps, or an orange-gold Phoenix like the one below.

But is it? Yes and no. By that I mean some things here are similar to what you’ll find on other blogs. Even so, the way down dirty meat and potatoes part really isn’t. First the similarities.

I’ve chosen to call things here that you’d also find in other blogs “Heartshots”. Heartshots are wise things you’ll find authentically successful, happy people doing every day.  heart8x6.jpgUseful things like not procrastinating, simplifying life, or “stopping to smell the roses” are good examples. Tips and pointers for achieving goals, learning how to prioritize, or even getting rich as well. Many blogs are fabulous sources of these happy ways of living life, having searched high and low to find and deliver them to us.

Each little wisdom is a small enlightenment and brings its own rewards when practiced. If  you bring many into your life, it’ll make your life richer.  But please keep this in mind. It won’t bring you the kind of genuine, true happiness legends are made of. Rock solid self-esteem, peace of mind as wide as an ocean, and a Divine sense of purpose won’t follow for instance. But I know you’re hungry for happiness, and want something immediate to sustain you….. while learning about the real thing. So I’ll offer my own heartshots to take home and warm yourself temporarily with.

Now to how this blog is different.

First some background. There’s only one way to get bona fide, authentic, true-blue Happiness. You have to learn how to make a living being yourself. That means seeing what to do with your life, so you can grow and grow and grow…….. until you fulfill all your potentials. Going about life Your Way is the only possible Way to attract an abundance of things that really mean anything to your heart. Yes you can  go get an abundance of bucks, baubles, and bright red cars. I did for a long time, and think better of it now. Why? If your heart-of-hearts hasn’t asked for these things to help you become all you can become, watch out. Eventually you’ll be meeting St. Peter at those pearly gates for your Big Life Review.

Then you’ll learn something you really didn’t want to know. Namely…you missed the life you were put here to get.

Now the difference. This blog is focused on helping you take away the single thing keeping you from knowing who you are and what to do with your life. Fear of being judged. Follow the story here (or read A Cry For Help…the book…if you’re impatient) and you’ll have a decent shot at happiness so big, Myths have been written about it.

You honestly believe fear of being judged is the ONLY thing that keeps people from following their bliss? I believe it is fear, indeed, but not JUST of being judged! What about fear of losing their financial security, etc…?

Hi Lindsay and thanks for the comment. FYI, my new blog is at http://www.howtolivefromtheheart.com I hope to see you there. About your comment. You are absolutely right that there are many fears out there, and many can paralyze us. Fear of losing financial security is surely one of them. But if I may, I’d like to suggest fear of judgment is a “root fear”. It begins early in our lives and puts us on a Path we weren’t meant to travel. This fear stops us from being ourselves. More to the point, it stops us from knowing what our “Bliss” really is. What happens when fears of being judged are removed? Slowly but surely our reason for being here dawns. Bit by bit, our “real Bliss” becomes evident. But as you point out, fears of financial insecurity may remain. Then what? Well, true Bliss is a bit like a hurricane at your back. It will push you with great Force to find a way to “make a living being yourself”. It will inspire you to tackle all other fears….making challenges of them…instead of dire obstacles. In short, the power behind the Mission to become your authentic self is bigger and badder than all those other fears combined. And it will win out in the end. Okay…..but here’s something I also know. To really get a feeling for where I’m coming from, we’d have to chat regularly about sundry matters surrounding “Bliss”. Coming to grips with this omnipresent fear of judgment takes a little time. So why not subscribe to “Why Self Help Rarely Helps”? I’d appreciate your comments, contributions and help to change lives. Ciao Lindsay. John Duffield
